Towne
Lake Hills & Golf Club - Towne Lake is an unincorporated
master planned community in southern Cherokee County,
Georgia, United States. It is located about two miles
due west of downtown Woodstock in an area formerly known
(at least to longtime locals) as "Thousand Acre Woods",
originally part of the Little River State Wildlife Management
Area, which has since completely succumbed to suburban
development. The community was developed by the Means
Brothers Company in the late 1980s as an upscale residential
enclave, but has become a bustling commercial area as
well. Towne Lake is traversed by two northward-flowing
creeks - Rose Creek and Noonday Creek. Main roads include
Towne Lake Parkway and Eagle Drive, and the area is also
bordered by Bells Ferry Road to the west, Little River
to the north and I-575 to the east.
There was never a lake known as "Towne Lake."
The name comes from the community's geographic proximity
to the "Town" of Woodstock and to Lake Allatoona.
An alternate title for "Towne Lake" was seriously
considered summer of 2007. The Woodstock City Council,
however, decided that "Half-Witted Barbie-Land"
could be construed as offensive, and decided to retain
the old name.
Towne Lake is the home of Hobgood Park, the largest
recreational public park in Cherokee County. Towne Lake
is also well known for golf courses. There are two golf
courses within the borders of Towne Lake. Eagle Watch
is an 18 hole, par 72 course designed by Arnold Palmer.
Towne Lake Hills is an 18 hole, par 72 course built
in 1994 by Arthur Hills. Homes are priced from the $220s
- 850s.

Bradshaw Farms - Since
development began in 1995, and ended in 2000, Bradshaw
Farm has been one of Cherokee County's most sought-after
golf club neighborhoods. Built on over 600 acres formerly
owned and farmed by the Bradshaw family, the Chatham-Cousins
development of 620 homes incorporated the farmland roots
of the property into the overall design.
The original grain silos were retained, and their silhouettes
have become a part of the Bradshaw Farm logo, providing
a nostalgic, pastoral view for homeowners. The white
farm style clubhouse furthers the family farm motif.
The two silos overlook the clubhouse and junior Olympic
pool, complete with a winding water slide and mushroom
waterfall. Also located at the main club area are lighted
tennis courts, a playground, basketball court, and volleyball
court. A second recreation area with pool and lighted
tennis courts is located on Avery Creek Drive.
With 27 holes, the Golf Club at Bradshaw Farm is set
against the beautiful backdrop of the north Georgia
mountains, with rolling greens and a red barn style
clubhouse reminiscent of the great history of the area.
The unique layout was designed by Michael OShea, constructed
by Landscapes Unlimited, and rated one of the "Top
10 New Public Courses in Georgia" and "One
of Atlanta's Top 10 Golf Courses" by local golf
magazines.
One of the most unique things about Bradshaw Farm is
the people who call it home. Residents have come from
all over the country, welcoming each other into the
neighborhood, and creating many friendships that have
lasted for years.
As part of the Cherokee community known as "Hickory
Flat," Bradshaw Farm has been a positive addition
to the area, providing a great place for over 600 families
to call home!
Homes are priced from the high $200 - 600+.
